The Polk County Energy Fair is a LOW WASTE EVENT. All efforts will be made to reduce landfill material during the fair. Past energy fairs have produced just one bag of garbage for every 500 people in attendance!!!
How you can help!
- All vendors will be using compost ready items. All plates, bowls, silverware, napkins, and cups are biodegradable! Place these items along with food scraps into the bin labelled "Compost".
- Bring your own reusable plates, cups, silverware, etc. All vendors will gladly fill your water bottles or mugs and serve you on your own plates.
- Please recycle all aluminum cans, #1 & #2 plastics (pop bottles), and glass by putting them into the recycling bin.
- Please give unwanted paper items/brochures to volunteers at the Information Booth for recycling.
Many Thanks!
A special thank you to Kent Muschinske from The Dresser Area Composting Facility for processing our compostable materials!
